Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director for Informa Markets in India shares his key focus areas for 2020

Focus on organic and inorganic growth

With our rich global legacy, and wide geographical reach of 35 countries, we have already initiated increasing the radius of sector ecosystems in the South Asia region with burgeoning markets. We are keen to focus on growing organically and inorganically, while reinvesting in shows with a lot of potential in order to boost those particular industries.

Greater alignment and synergy between diff divisions of Informa

Worldwide,Informa Markets is a division of Informa PLC, which after its combination with the erstwhile UBM PLC, has a market capitalisation of £10bn and 11,000 team members, a leader in the knowledge and information domain. Informa PLC is structured into five operating divisions Informa Connect, Informa Intelligence, Informa Markets, Informa Tech and Taylor &Francic, each working deeply in specialist customer markets. It is our organization’s expressed purpose to ensure a greater alignment and synergy between these divisions for mutual and combined benefit. This enhanced knowledge can, no doubt, also inject the spirit of reflection and enquiry that invariably helps in servicing our valued clients.

Championing the specialist marketplace

There was a phase where we were committed to building strong communities, while promoting our ‘Events First’ strategy.  Informa Markets in India is now strategically placed to go to the next level by championing the specialist marketplace through its 360 degrees in exhibitions, digital content and services, and conferences and seminars that cater to every industry.

Focus on sustained core growth of India and the exhibitions industry

Exhibitions are an effective catalyst for generating revenues that contributes directly to the economy. Our aim is to push boundaries while adding depth and quality so as to make people understand the difference the exhibitions industry is creating to the country’s development.  Through our rich repository of verticals, we also wish to attract, develop and grow talent in the exhibitions industry.  With a focus on the exhibitions and different industry sectors, the international market will also be made aware of the potential of India, which is still the most growing economy in this global slowdown.

Focus on use of technology

Technology transforms as well as informs, educates and connects specialist communities around the world. Internally, too, we are on the verge of starting several new software for seamless processes internally that will lead to external efficiency.
