Brands join the FIFA World Cup 2022 fervour with striking campaigns

The FIFA World Cup 2022 kick-started from 20th November to 18th December in Qatar. It is the 22nd edition of the competition and the first played in the Arab world. The 64 matches featuring 32 international teams will take place across eight venues.

Brands have joined the bandwagon with striking campaigns escalating the spirits of the football fans.

The featured campaigns are: Kalyan Jewellers, Byju’s, GoSats, adidas, Skybags, Vivo, Yas Island and Walkaroo.

Kalyan Jewellers

With the FIFA World Cup kick-started, renowned jewellery brand Kalyan Jewellers have forayed into the mix with a launch of a brand-new football-themed jewellery – Es Vida. The brand has kick-started the campaign with ace Indian Women’s Footballer Sweety Devi, the all-new limited edition jewellery designs of Es Vida pays tribute to the country’s vibrant football culture.

Es Vida, is a Spanish phrase which means ‘It’s Life’ – which is exactly what football is to its millions of supporters. This set of gender-neutral platinum and rose gold jewellery from Kalyan Jewellers provide fans with an opportunity to valiantly display their passion for the game. The campaign focuses on promoting this special edition pendant which will stay in the market for only limited period. 

Byju’s

BYJU’S, the edtech company, marked the start of the upcoming football season with the launch of a patriotic film titled ‘Someday’. The company which is one of the title sponsors for the FIFA World Cup, Qatar, showcased the aspirations and desires of billions of Indians to see the Indian National Football team represent the country in the international sporting tournament in the future.

GoSats

GoSats, the Bitcoin Rewards platform has launched an exciting reward campaign with their #BitcoinFootballFiesta that is designed to celebrate the much-awaited FIFA World Cup 2022.

The campaign is going to be running for the duration of the FIFA World Cup. During this period, GoSats app users will get a chance to stack Bitcoin with two fun-filled contests on their mobile application. The first contest, ‘Predict and Win’ encourages users to predict the winners of each match, further enabling them to win Bitcoin rewards. Furthermore, the top 3 stackers during the duration of the contest will get a chance to win jackpot rewards with the ‘Stackers of the Tournament’ Contest. 

adidas

To celebrate the career of the world’s greatest player, Lionel Messi, adidas unveils the latest chapter of its ‘Impossible is Nothing’ story with the launch of ‘The Impossible Rondo’. The film is a dream vision & football fans across the world will be eager to witness – the G.O.A.T pitted against himself, complete with his haircuts, Argentina shirts and adidas boots across 18 years and five tournaments. 

Bringing the magic of Messi’s World Cup career to life, the film was created using the latest advancements in artificial intelligence and VFX. Historical and present-day footage of Messi was used to produce different, de-aged versions of him. This was then applied to body doubles to allow us to bring Messi versus Messi to life, which sees him preparing for the World Cup alongside versions of himself from 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2018.

adidas unveils the next chapter of its ‘Impossible is Nothing’ story with its global football family. The brand kicks off a month-long campaign with a Family Reunion like no other, featuring Lionel Messi, Karim Benzema, Achraf Hakimi, Son Heung-Min, Jude Bellingham, Pedro ‘Pedri’ González López, Serge Gnabry and Stormzy. 

Channelling the special essence of the tournament, the playful spot celebrates the unified joy of football which brings together players and fans from all over the world. With a selection of the world’s greatest football stars unexpectedly reuniting and displaying their excitement and unique pre-tournament preparations, the film is inspired by the attitude that when football is everything, Impossible is Nothing.  

Skybags

Skybags, the brand in the travel gear category, has launched India’s first official FIFA licensed luggage range. Leveraging this World Cup fever, Skybags’ bespoke FIFA licenced range includes three distinct and dynamic designs that are excellent travel accessories for this season.

This exclusive FIFA collection proudly flaunts the metallic plate with FIFA world cup Qatar logo which makes for an ideal collector’s edition. The first design, “Game On” is inspired by Brazil; the country of Football. The other 2 designs, “Goal” and “Treble” connote an unbiased design but complements the madness of the world cup season. The brand has introduced the Bollywood Actor, Kartik Aaryan as their Brand Ambassador with an exciting campaign called ‘Let’s Get Loud’, who also happens to be a football lover himself. 

Vivo

Vivo is the official smartphone sponsor of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. Now, it is only a few weeks until the start of this world’s most-watched sporting event. The brand has launched #vivogiveitashot campaign. The campaign represents a call-to-action for people to “Give it a shot” together with vivo no matter where they are. 

During the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, fans are encouraged to take “shots” of unforgettable moments, join online and offline football challenges to make the “shots”, “give it a shot” to connect with new people, step out of their comfort zone, and embrace new adventures or challenges in life.

Yas Island

Yas Island, Abu Dhabi’s leisure and entertainment hub, is celebrating the international football tournament taking place in Qatar this year in a fun video as characters across the destination pass the ball from one iconic landmark to the next throughout on the Island.

Throughout the month of the highly anticipated sporting event, Yas Island will host a unique fan zone and screening experiences as well as a series of concerts for football enthusiasts to watch and celebrate. Fans can cheer for their favorite teams at key locations across the destination, including at Yas Links Abu Dhabi hosting Abu Dhabi Fanzone – Football Viewing Experience, with the largest outdoor screen in Abu Dhabi, Yas Bay Waterfront, Yas Mall, and Yas Marina.
