e-Commerce major Amazon India has launched a Diwali film that builds on its established #DeliverTheLove plank.
This year’s Diwali film tells the story of a mother and her daughter who hasn’t been home in two years. The older woman misses her and even justifies to those around her that her daughter hasn’t changed, but her life has. She recalls looking at a photo album her daughter’s growing up years and the time when she tried to make laddoos which were all out of shape.
Elsewhere, the daughter is picking up books for her mother, explaining her love for them to her partner. She surprises her mother by visiting her. She also hands over the gift, which her mother puts aside. The mother is overjoyed and they spend the next couple of days soaking in each other’s company in the backdrop of festivities. When the daughter asks her why she hasn’t seen her Diwali gift yet, the lady responds that she has been seeing her Diwali gift for the last two days. Her daughter is her gift, she says.
A voice over says that the gifts contained in boxes cannot replace the presence of loved ones. The brand signs off with the message, ‘This Diwali, #DeliverTheLove’,
