BARC Week 28: Zee Anmol continues to lead U+R and Rural HSM – Colors tops Urban HSM

BARC Wk 2 : Sony regains top spot in Urban HSM & becomes No. 2 in U+R; Zee Anmol continues to lead Rural

Mumbai: According to the BARC ratings for the week 28 for the period between Saturday, 7th July 2018 to Friday, 13th July 2018. The HSM Urban and Rural category is topped by Zee Anmol with a spike in its viewership with 651719 (000s impressions).  Zee TV and Sony Pal have retained the same positions of 2nd and 3rd with a slight increase in its viewership with 614367 (000s impressions) and 552330 (000s impressions) respectively. However, Star Bharat and Colors are seen interchanging its positions while the former stands at 4th place with 541652 (000s impressions) and latter with 538323 (000s impressions) occupies the 5th place. The positions of the other Hindi GEC’s like Star Utsav, Star Plus, Rishtey, Sony SAB and Sony Entertainment Television remains unchanged against the previous week.

Moving forward to look the performances and rating of the Hindi GEC channels in the Urban category, the positions of top 10 channels remains unchanged with slight variations in the viewership against the previous week.

Colors continue to lead the HSM urban market with 374843 (000s impressions)  followed by Zee TV and STAR Plus with 345909 (000s impressions)  and 345266 (000s impressions)  respectively. Sony SAB and Sony Entertainment Television occupy the 4th and 5th places in the list this week with 300846 (000s impressions)  and 298959 (000s impressions). With 256610 (000s impressions) Star Bharat is placed at the 6th place while Star Utsav stands at the 8th position with 158089 (000s impressions)  and Zee Anmol with 148372 (000s impressions) and Rishtey with 122820 (000s impressions)  take the last two places in the top 10 Hindi GEC Urban category this week.

Taking a look at the programs that topped the Hindi GEC Urban market, it is observed that Colors’ fantasy fiction Naagin 3 continues to stay at the top of the list with 9258 followed by Sony SAB’s Sitcom series Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma (000s impressions) is a new entrant to the list garnering 7228 (000s impressions). Zee TV’s Kundali Bhagya has retained its 3rd position with 7074(000s impressions). Zee TV’s another show Kumkum Bhagya has reclaimed its position in the 4th place with 6779 (000s impressions) Ishq Subhan Allah (000s impressions)  from Zee TV again is seen retaining the 5th place with 6283(000s impressions). The dance reality show Dance Deewane of Colors and Star Plus’ Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is seen missing from the top 5 programs list this week.  The entire list has gone through a revamp this week.

 The Hindi GEC rural category, has Zee Anmol leading the market, with 503347 followed by Sony Pal with 377659 and STAR Utsav 346199. The rankings of the other channels remain the same except for the Dangal TV, Zee TV and Big Magic that occupies the 6th, 7th and 8th places respectively.

Though the ranking of most of the Hindi GEC’s remains the same this week, the top 5 programs list of the Hindi GEC Urban, has seen a good shuffle that prove the competition between the channels in offering promising content.
