Ad Club Bangalore hosts successful webinar on how brands should communicate during and after Covid-19

The Advertising Club, Bangalore organized a webinar on April 22, 2020, which focused on how brands should communicate during and after Covid-19. Upali Nag, Chief Strategy Officer, and Sumant Bhattacharya, Head of Communications and Integrated Solutions, both from Motivator, GroupM— conducted the webinar, sharing relevant insights on how brands should respond, both in terms of communication and media

They broke down the current situation into the three phases of here and now, recovery and stabilisation and what the do’s and don’ts are for brands, during each phase. They also cited many examples of other brands which have come out stronger during past recessions, and what they did. They emphasized on the role of messaging and how it needs to fit into the current context and behavioural nuances and the best ways to distribute the communication across paid, owned and earned media, in a rapidly fluid media consumption context. The importance of long term brand building vs short term return on sales across the three phases was also discussed. There were a lot of interesting questions from the audience, some of which touched upon the evolving role of the agency during times like this. The Webinar was effectively and eloquently moderated by Radhika Ramani, Managing Committee member of AD club Bangalore

Welcoming all the participants, Laeeq Ali, President of Ad club Bangalore said that Ad Club has been striving to reach out to its members and the Constituents of the Ad Industry at large through a series of initiatives and the webinars are a part of this reach out. He urged Industry folks to become members of Ad Club Bangalore and strengthen its hands for many more initiatives.

The event was a huge success, with approximately 150 participants on Zoom and Facebook Live. This webinar was put together with the support of the Ad Club’s Managing Committee and Online Partner Medianews4u.com .
